How do I join a UGC agency as a creator?

Short answer

UGC agencies look for creators who make clean, on-brief content and deliver on time, not for big follower counts. Before you apply, prepare 3–5 short sample clips, one link to your best platform and a clear niche. Good agencies are free for creators and non-exclusive: the brand pays the agency, you never do.

Joining a UGC agency is less about your audience and more about proof you can make the thing a brand needs. Here's what an agency actually does for you, what to prepare, the red flags that mean walk away, and exactly what happens when you apply to Peeked. Written by an agency, so weigh it accordingly, but nothing here costs you anything to check.

What does a UGC agency actually do for a creator?

A UGC agency sits between brands and creators. Brands come with briefs and budgets; the agency matches each brief to creators who fit, runs the deal, and gets the content delivered. For you, that means paid briefs you didn't have to pitch for, and someone else doing the paperwork.

At Peeked it works like this: brands brief us, and we match briefs to the network. When one fits you, it lands in your DMs with everything upfront: product, rate, deliverables, deadline. Say no and nothing changes; the next fitting brief still comes. Say yes and the full brief follows.

Two tracks

The UGC track. You shoot ad creative: we hand you the hooks and the structure, you bring the delivery. The brand runs it on its own ad account, so your follower count is irrelevant here. We judge the content, not the audience. Deliver well and the briefs keep coming.

The posting track. You post to your own audience: dedicated videos, threads, Telegram posts. You set your rate and keep all of it; the brand pays our fee on top, so we have no reason to talk your price down. You approve every deal before anything moves, #ad disclosure always, and you never post something you haven't seen the brief for.

Do I need a minimum number of followers?

No. Peeked has no follower minimum: the network runs from under 10K to 1M+. For UGC, followers don't matter at all, because the brand runs your video from its own account. What counts is whether the clip is good and whether it arrives on time.

For posting deals, audience matters, but size isn't the test. An audience that listens beats an audience that scrolls. If people act on what you recommend, you're in the conversation. That's why "UGC agency for small creators" isn't a contradiction: UGC is the lane where a small or brand-new account can get paid work on the strength of the content alone.

What should I prepare before applying?

Agencies decide fast. Make it easy for a human to say yes in one look:

  • 3–5 short sample clips. Vertical, product-in-hand, the way you'd sell it to a friend. No brand deals yet? Shoot them with products you already own. This is your portfolio.
  • One link to your best platform. The post or video you'd show a brand first. One strong link beats ten average ones.
  • A clear niche. The one or two topics you actually know: crypto, gaming, tech and AI, fitness, fashion and beauty, lifestyle, finance, or something else.
  • Decent light and clean audio. A window and a quiet room beat expensive gear. Your phone is fine.
  • Your handles, all of them. List every account you run, not just the biggest.

What you don't need: a media kit, a rate card, or a fee. Peeked's form asks for your name and email, your primary platform and handles, your follower range (under 10K counts), your niche and one link. See the full list on the application page.

Is joining a UGC agency free? Should I ever pay?

A legit UGC agency is paid by brands, not by creators. You should never pay to join one. At Peeked there's no signup fee and no cut of your rate: brands pay our fee on top, and your quote is your money. If anyone claiming to be Peeked asks you for money, it's a scam: report it to hello@peeked.io.

Red flags: walk away if an agency

  • Charges you a fee to join, to review your portfolio, for "training", or for access to briefs.
  • Asks for exclusivity without paying for it. Locking you in should come with guaranteed paid work, not a hope.
  • Won't put terms in writing. Rate, deliverables and usage belong in a contract before you shoot or post.

Exclusive vs non-exclusive: which should a small creator pick?

Non-exclusive, in almost every case. Exclusivity only makes sense when the agency pays for it with enough guaranteed work to replace everything you'd give up. Until then, keep your options open: your inbound, your other reps, your own deals.

OK, what's the catch?

Fair question. Here it is: we only keep sending briefs if you deliver on time. That's the entire filter. Brands pay us for speed, so reliability is worth more to us than follower counts, aesthetics or gear. Deliver on time, repeatedly, and you outrank creators with far bigger audiences. Ghost once and the briefs stop. That's the catch and the opportunity in one sentence.

How does payment work?

Contract signed before you post, invoicing handled by us, crypto or fiat, your call. Brands pay us and we pay you, so you never chase an invoice. If a brand drags its feet, chasing them is our job, not yours.

UGC work is paid once your cuts are accepted at our quality check; posting work once your post is verified live. Not whenever the brand gets around to paying us. The rate is attached to the brief before you say yes, and your quote is your money.

Usage is part of the deal too. Usage windows are capped and priced: when a brand wants to run your face as ads, they pay for it, every rerun, every renewal. Whatever agency you join, get rate, deliverables and usage in writing before you shoot.

Your quote is your money. The brand pays the agency. If anyone asks you to pay to join, you have your answer.

What happens after you apply to Peeked?

  1. A human reads it. Every application, every time.
  2. We reply by email either way. Fit or not, you hear back.
  3. Briefs when there's a fit. If you're a fit, what lands next is a brief with a budget, not a newsletter. Take the ones you want, skip the rest, no penalty.
  4. You move up by delivering. Bench means you passed vetting and get briefs when the active pool is full. Active means one on-time delivery to spec: you're in the default matching pool. Preferred means three deliveries, zero misses: first call on every fitting brief, and eligible for a rate bump. Miss a deadline silently and you drop a tier; tell us early that you're slipping and it doesn't count against you.

Common questions

Can I join a UGC agency with no experience?

Yes, if you can show the work. Shoot 3–5 short sample clips with products you already own, with decent light and clean audio, and put your best one behind a single link. For UGC, the content is judged, not your résumé or your audience.

Can I join a UGC agency without followers?

Yes. For UGC your follower count is irrelevant: the brand runs the video on its own ad account. Peeked has no follower minimum; the network runs from under 10K to 1M+.

How do I know if a UGC agency is legit?

A legit agency is paid by brands, never by you, puts every deal in a written contract before you post, and doesn't demand exclusivity without paying for it. Peeked is a creator-first agency, est. 2019, run from Toronto and Los Angeles, and free for creators. If anyone claiming to be Peeked asks you for money, it's a scam: report it to hello@peeked.io.

Can I work with more than one agency?

Yes, if they're non-exclusive. Peeked is: keep your inbound, keep your other reps, take the deals we bring when they fit.

Can I say no to a brief?

Always. Every offer is optional and passing costs you nothing: no penalties, no falling down some priority list. Creative control stays yours on every deal.

How long does it take to apply to Peeked?
